The production of something physical connects me with a different part of my brain and forces me to be in the moment. Pottery provides me with a physical, mental, and artistic challenge. I also enjoy the technical and historical aspects of the art. I find it very satisfying to participate in such an ancient craft.

I like making functional work. I especially enjoy making planters. I love the way a plant looks in a handmade pot! I like making serving pieces also. I am currently exploring trays of various shapes and experimenting with different handle and foot treatments. For me, a foot on a pot does nice things to its stance. Handles always seem to add both personality and personification.

Making pots has connected me to wonderful people, has changed a bit of my perspective, and always provides new things to learn.
