Find out how you can use clay to suit your personal vision. You will also come away with practical ways to handle clay in a group setting and relate it to other areas of your curriculum. You will find that few other crafts adapt so well to the wide ranging interest of growing children and young adults. This course will also include slides, a short video presentation and an experiment in primitive firing. Optional text:The Great Clay Adventure by Ellen Kong Davis 1999.

Throwing Concentration

The underlying premise of this class is to afford students, whose principal interest is the wheel, the opportunity to delelop and strengthen their skills and to understand the complete throwing process. Indivdual instruction will be emphasized with attention given to form and function and the mechanics of trimming and glazing.
